Chess in Schools and Communities provide a much loved and valued service for the community, helping older people develop thinking/memory skills in a social setting. The charity has taught over 150 older people how to play chess and now runs two library clubs in Bracknell and Crowthorne in order that participants can continue playing the game. Chess in Schools and Communities recognises the need to combat loneliness and deteriorating memory for older people in the community and wishes to build on the success achieved so far. The chess course developed by Chess in Schools and Communities is very easy to learn, taught for social development and for fun. The principle of the charity is that the chess courses and library chess should be accessible for all and so free of charge to learners.
We need your help so we can continue to offer and even expand our service!
Thank you for your support and good luck!
